Calabasas, CA is a city located in Los Angeles County, California. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was just over 23,000, and it was formally incorporated in 1991. Calabasas is located in the Santa Monica Mountains and San Fernando Valley. Los Angeles County, including Calabasas, is part of a Subtropical-Mediterranean climate that receives sunshine throughout the year with only 35 days of measurable precipitation each year.
Calabasas is named from the Spanish word referring to pumpkin or squash. In honor of this name, the city holds an annual Pumpkin Festival in October. This festival may be attended by notable residents of Calabasas, including Lady Gaga, Kendra Wilkinson, Leann Rimes, and many members of the Kardashian family.
Attractions in Calabasas are available for both visitors and residents. The Leonis Adobe Museum is a historical monument located in Calabasas that many visitors choose to check out. Nature enthusiasts may enjoy visiting Malibu Creek State Park in order to spend some time outdoors, and the Los Angeles Pet Cemetery is also located in Calabasas.
